Nurse Triage

If your company is not taking advantage of Nurse Triage, it’s missing a great opportunity to ensure proper care of injured employees, while minimizing workers’ compensation claims. Nurse Triage is not case management; it occurs pre-claim.

How Nurse Triage Works
  1. When an employee gets injured, they report their injury to their supervisor.
  2. The supervisor then calls the nurse triage hotline.
  3. The RN is given brief information regarding the injury.
  4. The injured employee then speaks with the RN.
The Result

About 40% of nurse triage calls do not result in a workers' compensation claim. The employee receives prompt instructions from a medically certified RN on how to self-treat the injury. This results in large savings for you because of fewer visits to the emergency room and reduced medical claims (which average $1,000 per claim). A nurse triage cost per call is less than $100.

Benefits of Nurse Triage
  • Reduce stress load on supervisors who no longer need to be triage specialists.
  • Medically trained nurses are available 24/7 every day of the year.
  • Employees know they'll receive excellent treatment by medical professionals who want the best outcome for the employee.
