Melissa Moos

I’m a farm and agribusiness advisor with Leavitt Group of Colorado. I started in the insurance industry before college, but it wasn’t until I graduated that I joined Leavitt Group of Colorado full time and earned my Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), and Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designations.

I know what it means to run a farm — my husband and I have one, and we raise cattle with his family. I know where other farmers and ranchers are coming from when they ask questions and I’m able to understand their operations. I value my relationships with my clients. I take the time to listen to them and ask questions so I can offer the coverage they need.

I grew up on the Colorado front range, graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business, and moved to Sterling after graduation. My husband, Darren, and I have two girls who are involved in 4-H, which means our whole family is involved in 4-H.

I also enjoy reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and going on road trips with my family every Thanksgiving. Our family enjoys spending time at the South Platte River. Our farm borders it, and we’ve spent many summer days swimming, skipping rocks, and picnicking.

Community is very important to me. I serve on the boards of The Arc of Weld County and Trinity Lutheran Early Education Center. I’m also a member of Logan County Cattlewomen.
