File a Claim
When to file a claim:
One question that we are asked by our clients is, “When should I file a claim?” Sometimes that answer is simple, you’ve been in a car accident or you had a fire in your house. The difficult time is when you are not sure something is covered or not. As agents we don’t always have the answers to those questions, however we are here to give our best advice. So feel free to call us.
Here are some things to keep in mind if you do have a claim:
- Make sure that everyone is safe i.e. pull cars to the side of the road if possible, make sure everyone is out of the house.
- Prevent further damage if possible. i.e. if you have a roof leak, try to cover it to prevent more damage.
- Call for help; either police, fire or EMT.
- File a claim with your carrier.
- Contact your agent if you need more assistance.
