About Stan
Stan Baker is a risk advisor at Kysar Millennium Leavitt in Farmington, New Mexico.
Prior to working in the insurance industry, Stan was a vice president at a community bank for several years, managing a local branch and helping clients take care of their personal and commercial borrowing needs. After leaving banking, Stan owned and operated his own businesses for over ten years. Being in business for himself gave Stan a complete understanding of what business owners expect from their risk advisor. His clients like the fact that Stan can relate to their needs and concerns.
Stan has been in the commercial insurance industry for eleven years. He insures all types of risk, from Main Street businesses to oil and gas operations. In his years in the insurance industry, Stan has seen many things change, everything from economic shifts to differences in the risk itself. As a risk advisor, Stan is responsible for making sure his clients are insured for any potential loss and he is committed to knowing the industries that he insures. Detailed knowledge of his clients’ business is vital to his work. Stan continuously studies and learns about the various industries he insures and shares that knowledge and resources with his clients, often on a daily basis. Stan has always been intrigued with business. He attended high school in Farmington, New Mexico, where he was a member of Distributive Education Clubs of America and received many state and national awards. Stan attended San Juan College, where he studied business, banking, and finance. In the banking industry, Stan was fortunate enough to have his bank provide him with many levels of training which allowed him to train younger bankers and new hires. He has presented at many banking and business conferences in his career and feels fortunate to have contributed to many young individuals’ positive career paths.
A Farmington native, Stan and his wife, Melinda, who is a registered nurse at the local hospital, have five children and eight beautiful grandchildren. Melinda and Stan like to travel, play golf, spend time in the yard, and spend time with their grandchildren.
Stan is honest and always provides what he promises. He is always available when his clients need to speak with him, and they know that Stan always has their best interest at heart. His customer retention is above industry standards due to the satisfaction and trust his clients have in working with him.
