Lyne DeCuir

I have over 33 years of experience as an insurance broker and risk manager. I have dedicated the last 17 years to residential construction, including direct placements in the surplus lines marketplaces of liability, property, and workers’ compensation.

I began her insurance career working as a licensed agent in 1986, focusing on thoroughbred race horse mortality insurance and workers’ compensation for trainers at the racetrack. Since that time, I have worked in public entity business, written homebuilders nationwide, and worked as an in-house risk manager for homebuilders – a role I've had for the last 13 years. These opportunities to see insurance from the eyes of a client give me a better perspective on the type of service needed and an understanding of the challenges both sides have to provide the right information and be fairly underwritten.

Personally, I have finished two 1/2 marathons in the name of the American Heart Association, two mud runs at Camp Pendleton Marine base to support the families who live on the base, and volunteered on builds with Habitat for Humanity. Although I have been in and supported many races, I am not a naturally athletic person. I just felt compelled to sign up, train, and raise money for these important causes. All of them pushed me outside of my comfort zone where I didn't think I could finish, but surprisingly, I did! 

My rewards in life include the pride that comes from accomplishing difficult tasks and traveling inside and outside the USA. I love visiting historical places and the beach where I can swim, dive, snorkel, or just hang out with family and friends. Outside of work, my daily life includes the love and attention for and from my two large golden doodle/schnoodles.
