“Always show up, never give up”

I joined Nasburg Huggins Insurance in 2017 as an insurance advisor because I loved the idea of being a part of a company who took ownership in my success as much as I did. The culture of the company was supportive and inviting, making me feel as if I had joined a family rather than an insurance agency.

I worked hard and became the Operations Manager, then moving into my current role of Co-owner. I have earned my Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and work with organizations such as PIA Western Alliance, Big I Oregon, and the Service Contract Industry Council (SCIC).

Prior to working for Nasburg Huggins, I joined the U.S. Air force Reserves as a Crew Chief on the C-17 Globemaster from 2005 – 2012. In 2010 I was deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2013 I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Education from BYU-Idaho. 

After earning my degree, I worked as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization for three years, where I was helping individuals with disabilities and other barriers find gainful employment. Following this wonderful experience, I decided to utilize my diverse background and unique skillset within insurance, and I love it! 

As an insurance advisor, I take the approach of seeking to understand my client’s needs first before providing them with solutions, allowing me to learn from my customer and how their individual business operates. I seek to provide solutions to their risks which will help them stay in business, should a claim arise. I focus on many aspects of insurance but particularly enjoy writing service industry, non-profits, and professional coverages.

I was born in Hawaii while my dad served as a Chinese linguist for the US Air force. We also lived in Maryland, before finally settling down in Independence, Oregon. Not only do I have a bachelor’s in business, but I also have an associate degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from the Air force. My wife and I have been blessed with four children, two girls and two boys. We love spending time together as a family, often playing ping-pong together on the kitchen table and solving the world’s problems at dinner. My family is the most important part of my life and ultimately my reason to work hard. We love our community, and you can regularly find us at Coos Golf Club, or on a crazy new adventure!
