About Steve
With over 21 years of experience in both personal and commercial insurance, I have the knowledge and experience needed to help my clients navigate the often-complicated world of business risk planning. I really enjoy helping people solve problems. I've been told easy to work with and a good communicator. While I’m serious about the work, I try not to take myself too seriously!
I began my insurance career as a Farmers agent in 2003, opening an agency in Wisconsin. Wanting to broaden my knowledge and experience, I connected with a group who focuses on logging insurance and traveled throughout northern Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan, often meeting with clients deep in the woods. I opened my own independent agency in 2009 in Minocqua, Wisconsin, and became very involved in the community, volunteering with groups such as Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.
A change of direction in 2015 brought us to Houston. I joined Kurtin Insurance & Financial Services and currently serve as Commercial Lines Director. Kurtin Insurance affiliated with Leavitt Group Texas Select in 2023.
I grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and studied business finance at the University of Wisconsin Waukesha. My wife and I have two puppies, Charles and Tater, and we love the Houston area. Our weekend get-away is renting a place in Fredericksburg for the weekend and riding the winery shuttle.
I’m an avid Green Bay Packer fan (you can’t take the Wisconsin out of the boy), and I enjoy woodworking and home brewing in my free time.
