About James 'Buddy'
I began my business career as a CPA (the hardest exam I ever took) and worked in the financial services industry until 2009 when I made the switch to commercial insurance. I concentrate on construction, oil and gas, and public entities coverage. I’m also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA).
My sales experience and financial background help me understand and effectively explain insurance coverage and cost control to my clients. We work together as a team, and they know I will represent them well and provide excellent service.
I grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and received my undergraduate degree in accounting from Northwestern State University. I was married to my wife, Paula, for 50 years before she passed away in 2018. We have two wonderful children, and I recently adopted a mini-Australian labradoodle named Bella.
I love living in Shreveport because the people are so respectful and friendly. In my free time I love to golf, work out, and fish, especially on my friend’s 50-acre lake.
