Ana was raised in Santa Barbara with two sisters. She attended local schools and graduated from San Marcos High School. She has been with BB&H Benefit Designs since 2002 and loves what she does because it keeps her motivated to continuously learn new things, not only in this industry, but also in the community. She is very proud of all the community outreach that BB&H participates in.
Ana has four adult children, three grandsons, and two dogs. Ana likes to spend most of her spare time with her family and friends, and watching her grandsons play sports. Now that her children are grown, Ana plans to travel more. She loves being outdoors and in the sun, so anywhere tropical suits her just fine.
Andrea has been working in the employee benefits field for since 1997. Andrea began her career at a local brokerage firm right after graduating from Santa Barbara City College with an Associate’s Degree in Office Information Systems. That is where she met, and later joined, Deborah Babineau and Marice McKeegan when they founded BB&H Benefit Designs. Today, Andrea uses her skills to design, implement, and manage benefit programs for small-group employers.
Andrea's passion for helping people coincides with her working with clients to develop comprehensive, cost-effective employee benefit programs that meet their distinct needs. Andrea is primarily responsible for developing new business. Her current clientele is a mixture of corporate and non-profit industry employers that range from 2 to 100 employees. Andrea also serves as BB&H’s bilingual consultant, conducting many of the companies’ Spanish enrollment meetings.
Most weekends, Andrea can be found on the basketball court bleachers cheering on her sons, both of whom are on traveling teams. She loves to do anything that involves spending quality time with her family - especially hiking, cooking, bowling, and walking the dogs. She also loves to stay fit by working out and eating healthily.
Healthcare consulting is problem solving for the employer and its employees. This is what attracted Deborah Babineau to become a health insurance broker. A degree in Economics from UC Santa Barbara, and a strong desire to help people, led to the high-touch service model that BB&H was founded on in 1997. With their recent affiliation with The Leavitt Group, BB&H Benefit Designs continues its core values of serving their clients, supporting the community, and providing a fun and rewarding work environment for their team.
In her spare time, Deborah serves on the board for the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics and the HR committee of Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families. She enjoys running, tennis, and spending time with her husband and two boys at soccer pitches all over Southern California.
Whether it be during a lengthy career in banking, several years as an at-home mom, or 18 years as a Human Resources & Benefits Administrator - Donna has loved benefits and helping people! Following a layoff in 2017, she recalled a very positive relationship as a prior client of BB&H and reached out to them in hopes of contributing her skills to their company. She believes that the longevity of their team members speaks volumes about BB&H and the women who run it.
Donna is a Santa Barbara native, wife, and mom to two girls. She enjoys bike rides, barbequing, and hanging out with family and friends. Her favorite book is The Four Agreements and she has fun collecting Lucille Ball Memorabilia.
Ilene has been in the insurance world for many years. She worked at BB&H for 6 years in the early 2000’s, working her way up from Receptionist to Account Manager. She took a break to raise her children and considers herself fortunate to have been hired back part-time to handle processing and billing reconciliation. She truly enjoys helping clients and establishing relationships with them.
Ilene is a wife and proud mom of two children - a boy and a girl. She is a lifelong Santa Barbara native. When away from work, she loves spending time with the most important people to her, her family. Ilene stays busy on the weekends watching her son play soccer and attending events where her daughter sings and performs. She enjoys entertaining and having family and friends over to barbecue. You can often find her riding her bike or taking long walks in her neighborhood.
In 2004, Kaija bought a one-way ticket from her small town childhood home in Alabama to Santa Barbara. In 2006, she was hired as a Small Group Account Manager at BB&H Benefit Designs. Although she had very little insurance benefits experience at the time, the personal touch approach to customer service, fostered by BB&H, made her feel at home in the position. She immediately found joy in building long-term relationships with clients and the positive and friendly work environment at BB&H. Kaija provides support for employers and employees during enrollment periods as well as being a main point of contact throughout the year for any service needs. She has gained much experience over the years and is eager to assist anyone she can. Really… Just pick up the phone and give her a call!
Kaija lives in Santa Barbara with her husband and son. She loves good food and wine, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
Karna Rincon has focused on employee benefits since 1999. She began in the industry as a receptionist, coming back into the work force after 10 years. Karna later became a Senior Account Manager for a national insurance brokerage firm. In August of 2015, an unexpected opportunity led Karna to a wonderful beginning at BB&H. Her focus is on employee benefits for small and mid-size employers, assisting clients in the renewal process, enrollments, eligibility, and claims issues. Karna strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering excellent service and maintaining good relationships based on trust and the highest standards.
Karna lives in Santa Barbara with her husband and enjoys traveling to visit her three children.
Marice started her career in the industry as a receptionist and found benefits to be personal, political, expensive, changing, challenging, and last but not least important! It is deeply satisfying for Marice to be able to anticipate and meet the needs of clients, many of whom she now considers her friends. She feels that the team at BB&H Benefit Designs is like-minded, so for her, every day spent at the office is considered a success. She believes that the commitments BB&H makes to their clients transcend into all parts of life, particularly with problem solving, support, and negotiation.
Marice has a sporty, fun family and two crazy little dogs named Bruno and Chapo.
Rochelle Camacho-Alvarez is a Benefits Professional at BB&H Benefit Designs. With over 10 years of experience in business development and customer service, Rochelle made a great addition to the BB&H team. Rochelle has a strong desire to help businesses grow and succeed, which is one of the reasons she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. She has created significant client relationships by providing open communication and efficient work. Rochelle is a fluent Spanish speaker and is always willing to help where needed.
When Rochelle isn’t working, she spends time with her husband and their dog visiting local beaches and parks. She is enthusiastic about reading books, watching movies, and road trips. Her longest road trip was traveling to Vail, Colorado from California. She plans to travel to more locations throughout the United States.
Taylor grew up in Central California and moved to Santa Barbara to attend UC Santa Barbara. In high school, she raised lambs for FFA, competed in Mock Trial competitions, and won a state championship for Project Management with Future Business Leaders of America.
Taylor has a background in banking and accounting, but found her true passion when she joined BB&H Benefit Designs in 2006. As a Benefits Account Manager, Taylor enjoys solving problems, helping people, and doing something different each day. She wants to be your partner in benefits, and welcomes each challenge as an opportunity to learn.
When Taylor is away from work, she loves to camp with her family, cook with her husband, and go to the beach with her dog.
Vanessa comes from a hardworking family. Early on, they encouraged her to work towards a career where she could make a difference in other people’s lives. While attending Santa Barbara City College, she started working for a medical group processing claims. This is where she found her passion for the health care and customer service industry. Vanessa was employed by an insurance carrier when she found BB&H Benefit Designs. She was hired at BB&H in March of 2006 and knew right away that she had found her forever home with a team committed to serving their clients’ every need.
Vanessa was born and raised in Santa Barbara, in a large extended family. She is a proud mother of four amazing children of her own and one beautiful special needs granddaughter. She is a strong advocate of parents with special needs children and the Down Syndrome Association.
