Kim’s personal life is deeply rooted in rural farm living. A lifelong horseperson, she spends her days surrounded by the routines of farm work, her thriving garden, and the company of her three big, fluffy dogs who consider themselves essential support staff. She is also a proud mother of three grown daughters—an aspiring astrophysicist, a pilot, and a professional horse trainer—each forging remarkable paths that reflect the same determination and curiosity she brings to her work.

She has traveled to all 50 states and 15 countries, collecting perspectives and stories that shape her understanding of people and place.
