There’s something powerful about seeing the impact of community efforts up close, and this year’s Sip & Swine BBQ Festival is a great example of what that looks like in action.

The 11th Annual Sip & Swine BBQ Festival, held March 6–7 at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Georgia, brought together 30,000–40,000 attendees and more than 200 volunteers, all rallying around a shared purpose: supporting Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. Every dollar raised goes directly to helping young mothers and their children facing homelessness and suburban poverty.

In the video below, you’ll hear directly from the people behind the impact:

  • Jim Lloyd, Founder of Sip & Swine, shares how the event started and what it takes to bring it to life each year
  • Maureen Kornowa, Executive Director of Home of Hope, explains how these funds support families working toward stability and independence
  • Chrissy Keheley, Associate Vice President at InsuranceHub (a Leavitt Group affiliate), reflects on what the event means for their team—creating space to connect as coworkers, families, and community members

Strong communities don’t happen by accident. They’re built by people who show up, contribute, and stay invested.

Take a few minutes to watch the video and see the story firsthand. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when people come together around a shared purpose—and the role each of us can play in the communities we serve.
