Earlier this month, Leavitt Group employees across the country stepped away from their desks and into their communities for our first-ever Day of Service.

Headed by our Leavitt Engage program, the day focused on supporting the people and places around us while spending meaningful time together as teams.

A Day Full of Impact

From Cedar City to communities across the country, our people showed up in big ways.

Some rolled up their sleeves outdoors, planting trees and cleaning up trails at Canyon Park. Others supported local organizations like Iron County Care and Share and Happy Factory, helping meet real, immediate needs. Teams also gave blood through the American Red Cross, tied blankets for children, and prepared meals for individuals and families facing food insecurity.

Everyone’s work looked a little different, but their end goal was the same: give back where it matters most.

Many Ways to Get Involved

One of the things that made the day special was the wide variety of service opportunities.

“When planning the Day of Service, we wanted to offer a range of ways for employees to get involved in causes that matter to them,” said Laura Albrecht, Leavitt Engage program lead.

“Providing flexible options made it easier for people to participate, work together as teammates, and give back to the causes they care about.”

Employees working remotely also had the opportunity to participate!

Across the country, team members contributed virtually by writing letters of gratitude to deployed troops, veterans, new recruits, and first responders. Others spent time connecting with immigrant and refugee women, helping them practice English and build confidence.

Living Our Principles & Looking Ahead

“Serving stakeholders is one of our governing principles,” said Brooke MacNaughtan, chief people and community officer. “We created Leavitt Engage to foster connection and encourage civic involvement, while also setting aside dedicated time for employees to serve.”

Our first Day of Service has set the tone for what we hope becomes a meaningful tradition.

Thank you to everyone who participated, organized, and supported these efforts. The impact reached far beyond a single day, and we’re just getting started.
